Why do you think Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) has increased during the pandemic? What external factors could contribute to an increase in IPV during the pandemic? Do you think there is a way to limit IPV during a pandemic lockdown? Why or why not?

The pandemic lockdowns led to a surge of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) around the world. From Columbia to Pakistan, the United Kingdom to the United States, the pandemic made IPV victims’ circumstances worse. The United Nations and the Harvard Medical School addressed the perils of pandemic circumstances trapping victims in the house with their abusers (United Nations Department of Global Communications 2020; Valera 2020).
